Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from other personality tests?

First of all, it’s not a personality test whatsoever. It just happens to include portions that could be seen as vaguely similar to a personality test. We would use the metaphor: an airplane is nothing at all like a car, although it is true that both include wheels that move the body of a passenger vehicle on the ground for a bit. If you think this is like a personality test, please contact us and we’ll explain it to you from scratch to try to clear your mind of that notion. Tabula Rasa!

Secondly, here are a few technical differences:

  1. Traditional personality assessment tests are just Likert scales (or comparable sliding options, or choosing 1-10 between two extremes). We are free-form text analysis. We’ve taken too many personality tests like, “Which of these two options do you prefer: to solve a problem, do you look more for a root cause, or for the context of the situation?”–like how the &*@#$& do you choose between those? And even if you do choose, isn’t it really likely to be a 51/49 difference? On the other hand… when you write up a whole paragraph on that, you can tease out the subtlety of how you approach it.
  2. Traditional personality assessment tests only have you answer those (Likert Scale) questions. There are other aspects to our platform as well, such as others answer questions about you, as well.
  3. Traditional personality assessment tests are built on a personality model of your mind that has four axes (like the famous Myers-Briggs). Our patent-pending Kaleidoscope64 Model has 64 axes—the most sophisticated model of the mind ever developed.
  4. Traditional personality assessment tests usually reduce you to one of the extremes of each axis. You are introverted or extroverted. That’s why 16 Personalities have, well, 16 personalities (4×4=…!). But we do not reduce anyone to just one of the two sides, but create a nuanced model.
  5. The popular personality tests, such as 16 Personalities, DISC, and Ocean, were developed between a half-century and a century ago, using the best approaches that existed… as of a century ago. We have learned from all of these and incorporated their most important and most effective aspects into our model. Our team includes psychologists who ensure our approach is both ethical and grounded in modern psychological principles, prioritizing accuracy, responsibility, and user well-being.
  6. We’re saving the best for last: we are AI-driven, built from the ground up by, for, of, with, and around LLMs. All other models are pre-LLM and don’t use AI, or perhaps they want to be cool today, so they insert it as an afterthought. We are the only AI-first personality assessment platform.
